Our Corporate Sponsors

The STC Carolina Chapter would like to thank the following corporate sponsors for their support of our chapter’s activities.

Duke University

Duke Continuing Studies has provided courses and certificate programs to thousands of people annually since 1999. Our Technical Writing program has been in existence for over 15 years and is designed and taught by some of the best in the business, locally anyway! The program meets weekly for five months in our Durham, NC office and teaches the key skills needed to be a technical writer. Students will learn information architecture, information development, essential grammar skills and tools (like MadCap Flare) needed to work in the industry, and will come away with a very well-rounded skillset in Technical Writing.

MadCap is an industry-standard and leading documentation software company known mostly in the technical communication community for their flagship product MadCap Flare. Many of the world’s largest companies build their websites and documentation with MadCap Flare. MadCap strives to be the world’s premier software developer for technical communicators, documentation teams, and content developers as their products are used to create user support sites, online help, corporate intranets, knowledge bases, policy & procedure manuals, video tutorials, training guides and more. MadCap has partnered with STC Carolina in the past, providing MadCap Flare training, and offering generous trial-licenses to our mentees (not something they do often). To learn more about this partnership, visit our Mentoring page.

Become a Sponsor!

The STC Carolina Chapter welcomes corporate sponsorships to help defray costs for our educational offerings and other chapter services. Corporate sponsors heighten awareness of their businesses in the Research Triangle Park’s technical writing community, one of the most influential in the U.S. Since our meetings are generally available via GoToWebinar, our reach also extends beyond the immediate geographical area.

Benefits of Sponsorship

A corporate sponsorship program accomplishes the following:

  • Eliminates the need for advertising in various publications
  • Allows the Carolina Chapter to provide greater services to our members
  • Assists in covering the costs of monthly program meetings and events

The higher the level of sponsorship, the greater the benefits and the more exposure the company receives.
