The Carolina Communiqué has won an Award of Excellence in the Newsletters: Web & Electronic category from the APEX Awards for Publishing Excellence.

APEX 2008 awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry — in the opinion of the judges — in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.

Vision Day

Date and Time: July 10, 6:00-8:00

On July 10th we will hold our traditional Vision Day membership meeting. This is an opportunity for us to brainstorm and share ideas about our coming year. The Carolina Chapter was declared a Community of Excellence for our efforts in reinventing ourselves. To become a Community of Distinction will take some additional work.

Our theme for the next year will be Building Our Community. It's time for us to build up the STC Carolina Community with new faces, fresh ideas, and volunteers. In order to build that community, we'll be asking for a little help from a lot of members. Join us on July 10 to share your ideas for increasing the visibility of the Chapter in the local community, as well as building our STC community.

• From I-40, take exit 289 to Wade Avenue.
• Turn right on Edwards Mill Road.
• Continue through the stoplight at Trinity Road.
• Turn right at the first opportunity, and turn right again into the parking lot.

Every quarter, the chapter recognizes one member for his or her service to the chapter based on the recommendations of fellow members. Decide which of our deserving colleagues you want to nominate.

Cut-off for nominations is June 20.

Through the good works of its members over the past year, the Carolina Community has earned the Excellence award for 2007-2008.

The citation on our certificate will read...

For innovative methods and programs to support the chapter theme of reinvention.

The STC Carolina community will be recognized during the Leadership Day event on Sunday, June 1, at the Summit in Philadelphia. Jenna Moore, currently the chapter's Vice President, will receive the certificate and the feedback comments from the CAAEC judge.
