The STC Carolina Chapter, a recipient of the 2012 Community of Excellence award, currently has openings for a treasurer and two new directors-at-large to serve on the Administrative Council from July 2012 through June 2013. The admin council is responsible for leading the chapter and organizing chapter activities. The time required is about 4 hours per month, plus time spent at meetings:
- One admin council meeting each month (held virtually via GoToMeeting)
- One membership meeting each month (either a formal program or a social event)
Admin council members also correspond about chapter business by email. The Carolina Communique article at the link below offers an overview of the programs that the admin council helped plan for you in 2011:

In years past, directors were elected to traditional offices or functional positions. Under our new bylaws, the chapter is adopting the director-at-large model used by the Society to give us flexibility in assigning responsibilities based on the chapter's current needs.
