About the Carolina Communiqué

The Carolina Communiqué was first published over 30 years ago. Its goal is to provide high-quality articles about topics relevant to technical communicators. These articles help readers further their careers and expand their knowledge base of many technical communication areas. Topics include ideas and research on theories, grammar, practical applications, book reviews, tools, and job searching. Topics also include summaries of events and happenings in STC and STC Carolina, such as meeting recaps, competition winner summaries, as well as updates on the Society.

By providing quarterly issues, the Carolina Communiqué strives to keep readers abreast of the latest discussions about technology, theories, practical techniques and STC.

About the Site


Site Features

  • Archives — Past editions are available on the Archive page, grouped by publication date. You can also list all articles, sorted alphabetically.
  • Search — Use the search form in the Main Menu (at left) to perform a keyword search of the complete text of all articles.
  • RSS Feeds — Subscribe to the newsletter's RSS feed RSS Feed to stay up-to-date and read the newest articles first.
  • Printing — You can easily create a "printer-pretty" version of a complete newsletter by clicking the Print icon Print on each page. You can also use the print feature to select specific articles to print, creating a custom newsletter.
  • Discussions — Do you want to discuss or comment on an article? Use the Discuss on STC Carolina link to start a discussion topic on the our Facebook fan page... and become a fan of Carolina Communique!
  • Rating — Tell the author what you think. Use the Rate this article area on select articles, to provide feedback.
  • Tags — Each article is "tagged" with keywords. The Tag Cloud displays all tags, with visual cues to show the more popular tags. The Most Popular Tags area (in the left column) shows the top 25 tags.
  • Similar Articles — If you enjoyed reading a particular article, use the More articles button to find other, related articles.
