Looking for a Way to Get Involved?

We have several specific opportunities for volunteers, which are listed below. If you are interested in other areas, please complete and submit the volunteer contact form.

Every quarter, the chapter will recognize one member for his or her service to the chapter based on the recommendations of fellow members. Show your appreciation — nominate a dedicated volunteer for the Volunteer of the Quarter award.

Community Service

We are beginning a resume editing project for returning veterans. This project uses our professional skills to help men and women who have served our country. Contact Betsy Kent to sign up as a volunteer editor.

PR

We need PR Committee Members. We've set some PR goals for the chapter and identified a few key activities on which to focus. Now we need to beef up our PR staff to help promote chapter events and increase awareness. Please contact Larry Kunz for details.

Employment directory

We are looking for volunteers to help update our employment information of online directory of local employers and employment & job agencies. If you would be interested in helping, please contact Rick Sapir.

Training

We need a training facility. Our training committee has some great workshops planned and is seeking a spot to hold them, especially the computer workshops. If your company has a computer training lab available one Saturday a month, I'd like to encourage you to suggest that they become a Silver or Gold Carolina chapter sponsor. See the Sponsors page for more information on sponsorships. Please contact the Training Manager, Terry Smith with any suggestions.
  • Join the Training Committee and have your say on what workshops we offer. Help coordinate a workshop and attend for free or at reduced cost! Volunteer for as much or as little as you like. For suggestions, comments, or to get involved, please contact the Training Manager, Terry Smith.

Competitions

If you'd like to join the competitions planning committee, contact Jennifer Raisig. Joining the planning committee is lots of fun and is a great chance to contribute to the technical community.

Newsletter

Get involved, published, and share your experience, all at the same time! Write an article for our chapter's newsletter, Carolina Communiqué. Run your idea past the Managing Editor, and read the online instructions, which also contains a list of article idea generators.
