"Facebook Got Me Fired": An STC Carolina Foothills and STC Clemson, Joint Event



Join STC Carolina's Foothills region and the STC Clemson student chapter on Saturday, November 5 for "Facebook Got Me Fired: How Social Media Can Make or Break Your Career," presented by Robert Rhyne Armstrong. We will network over a catered dinner from 5:30-6:30 p.m., then hear about upcoming opportunities with the Society for Technical Communication from 6:30-6:45 p.m.

The locale, Coffee Underground(external link), is located in the center of Greenville on the corner of Main Street and Coffee Street. They are on the underground level, below Ristorante Bergamo.

Presenter Biography

Robert Rhyne Armstrong is director of documentation at RouteMatch Software. He has 18 years experience in the technical communication field; often moving from the core discipline of technical writing to the outlying roles of corporate communication, product marketing, and user experience design. Over the last several years, Robert has consulted on social media and social networking strategies for several organizations and individuals, and often dives head-first into emerging technologies and communication trends. He is a senior member of STC, serving on the Community Affairs Committee and on the leadership council of the Atlanta Chapter. Robert resides in Alpharetta, GA, where he spends most of his time shuttling any of his four kids to soccer, ballet, or gymnastics. He is a rabid soccer fan, a youth athletics coach, and a follower and alumnus of the University of South Carolina.
